DIMITRI FROM PARIS

Dimitri from Paris (born Dimitri Yerasimos in October 1963) is a French producer and DJ. Contrary to his musical pseudonym, he was born not in Paris but in Istanbul, Turkey.

He started out by DJ’ing at the French station Radio 7, before moving on to Skyrock and finally NRJ, one of the top radio groups in France, in 1986. There, he introduced the first ever house music show to be broadcast in France, while simultaneously producing runway soundtracks for fashion houses such as Chanel, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Hermès and Yves Saint-Laurent. He also released two solo EPs from 1993 to 1994, and contributed to the Yellow Productions compilation La Yellow 357.

In 1996 Dimitri released his first full album, Sacrebleu. Subtly blending a variety of styles ranging from jazz to samba to house, Sacrebleu sold 300,000 copies worldwide and was named Album of the Year by Mixmag magazine. He followed this up with A Night at the Playboy Mansion and Disco Forever in 2000, My Salsoul in 2001, After the Playboy Mansion in 2002 and most recently Cruising Attitude in 2003

thirdiq is the solo project of Japanese guitarist/producer, Yukihiro Atsumi. Yukihiro mainly works in the field of JAZZ, FUNK, R＆B, SOUL,HIPHOP, HOUSE, AMBIENT. Before starting thirdiq, he has worked with various big names such as ANANDA PROJECT, Shuya Okino, TEI TOWA, Yu Sakai, DJ Yutaka,DJ KAWASAKI,Hanah,Hiroki Kashiwagi as producer,guitarist. He also belongs to the band called JAMNUTS which is a project of Top 30 professional players in Tokyo.They released 1st album “Nu JAM” in 2007.Yokihiro produced 3 songs in this album. Especially,the fresh arranges of the classic hits caught attention of BBC radio in UK which heavily rotated “Hey Ya!”.(Cover of Outkast)The 1st album "monologue" as thirdiq is improvisational Jazz/soul/Hip Hop album.All songs were improvised and recorded in a single take.After that, he chop and sampling that and he created new sounds that anybody have never heard before.The songs of the album was used for documentary movie "The Cleanest Line" that ran after Living legend surfer Gerry Lopes's lifestyles. In 2009, he provided the songs for the movie named “lushlife”(Original novelist: Kotaro Isaka)and released the 2nd album “who may find love in the imaginary axis” including the movie's songs.It’s released in Japan,France and DJ Benji B played the song on BBC 1xtra(UK). Also, he started monthly CD project named “laidbook” with mabanua(Dr), Shingo Suzuki (B) and 45 aka SWING-O(Key). They release art book CD every month with art creator (DRAGON,GLOWZ,TKO,Helllvetic). They decide 1 theme and create songs and art cards.This unprecedented project gets into the news all over the world.

DJ KAWASAKI

DJ Kawasaki is a somewhat of a newcomer, a rookie if you will. However shortly after he released his debut album “Beautiful” in fall of 2006, he became a staple and a new ambassador for Japanese club and dance music.

He usually makes his own original compositions in music in addition to remixing other people’s songs. The reason why I call him Mr. MPC 3000 is that he is known for using an Akai MPC 3000 drum machine for making his fabulous beats.

The album is made up of 10 original tracks and it starts off with a short introduction track. The intro is a slow solo piano melody of the second track “Beautiful” which sounds very sophisticated, smooth, and mellow. The second track Beautiful is probably DJ Kawasaki’s show piece and main single off the album (hence the title of the album), but for myself I like track 3 “Save Your Love” best of all! Save Your Love is real hard hitting house complete with synths, horns, a heavy beat, and strong bass. It is so easy to dance to Save Your Love, and when you do, you will shake your butt… Hard! The song just sends chills through my body, it sounds so good.

In 2007 DJ Kawasaki released a sophomore album of more of his productions & remixes called “Beautiful Too”. I highly recommend this album as well.

It has all four of the studio albums released by the Lou Reed-led lineup, and a wealth of previously unreleased goodies. Is it an essential purchase? That depends on your level of fanaticism. Most serious Velvet fans have all four of the core studio albums already (although the third, self-titled LP is presented in its muffled, so-called "closet" mix), and will be most interested in the previously unavailable recordings, which do hold considerable fascination. The entire first disc is devoted to a drummer-less 1965 rehearsal tape in John Cale's loft, with radically different, almost folky run-throughs of most of the important songs from their classic debut, as well as a song that only made it onto Nico's first LP ("Wrap Your Troubles in Dreams"), and one which makes its first appearance anywhere (the Dylanesque "Prominent Men"). Other big bonuses include no less than seven outtakes from Loaded and other songs re-done by Reed on his early solo albums. And there are sundry other unreleased live and studio items, highlighted by a scorching live 1967 "Guess I'm Falling in Love" and the 1969 demo "Countess From Hong Kong." There are also highlights from VU and Another View, longer versions of Loaded's "Sweet Jane" and "New Age," and an 80-page booklet. The thing is, though, that virtually everyone who's interested in this material has already bought the four studio albums, sometimes several times over.
